Le Chameau Ivre Béziers – Das betrunkene Kamel
Die Auswahl an Restaurants in Béziers ist groß, allerdings ist leider die Qualität der meisten nicht sonderlich hoch. Das Vorurteil, dass die franz. Küche doch sooo gut wäre, ist halt nichts anderes als das: Ein Vorurteil.
Ich überspitze mal und beschreibe die Küche der meisten Restaurants wie folgt: Ein Stück Fisch oder Fleisch mit Irgendwas dazu, und es ist meist ziemlich egal und einfallslos das „Irgendwas dazu“. Dann gibt es Restaurants, die haben seit 4 Jahren die genau selbe Speisekarte, mit den genau selben 5 Vor-, Haupt-, und Nachspeisen.
Natürlich kann man hervorragend essen aber zu Preisen von 80 – 120 Euro für das Dreigangmenü kann ich überall auf der Welt gut essen, nicht nur in Frankreich.
Das Chameau Ivre bildet da eine große Ausnahme. Dort wird gekocht, dort hat man einen Anspruch und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut in Ordnung. Das Mittagsmenü, 3 Gänge für 26 Euro ist sogar günstiger als etliche andere Restaurants, die bei weitem nicht an die Qualität heranreichen. Abends gitbts Menüs ab 42 Euro.
Mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Béziers und meiner Meinung nach das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in der Stadt.

The selection of restaurants in Béziers is large, but unfortunately, the quality of most of them isn’t particularly high. The prejudice that French cuisine is sooo good is nothing more than that: a prejudice.
I’ll exaggerate and describe the cuisine of most restaurants as follows: A piece of fish or meat with something on the side, and the „something“ is usually pretty unimaginative and unimaginative. Then there are restaurants that have had the exact same menu for four years, with the exact same five starters, main courses, and desserts.
Of course, you can eat excellently, but for prices of €80-120 for a three-course meal, I can eat well anywhere in the world, not just in France.
Le Chameau Ivre, which means „The drunken Camel“ is a great exception. The cooking there is high-quality, and the price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. The lunch menu, three courses for €26, is even cheaper than many other restaurants, which don’t come close to the quality. Dinner menus start at €42.
My favorite restaurant in Béziers and, in my opinion, the best value in town.
